Official Opening of The Carphone Networks New £10 million Networks Operations Centre, at Irlam, Manchester

City of Salford Mayor, Valerie Burgoyne, accompanied by Charles Dunstone, The Carphone Warehouse C.E.O. and Neil McArthur, The Carphone Networks M.D., officially opened the new Networks Operations Centre on Friday, 18th April 2008.

The project was undertaken by Williams Tarr on a Design & Build basis. White Young Green, Manchester, were Williams Tarr's appointed designer.

The building incoroporates a state of the art Networks Operations Centre with wireless coverage throughout the office; a Service Management Centre, Business Development Centre and Training Facilities, Restaurant and Gym. The Centre, currently occupied by 450 staff, has the capacity to accommodate up to 600 staff

Carphone Networks is responsible for operating the network infrastrucre that that Carphone Warehouse's Talk Talk, AOL Broadband and Opal Telcom customers use. Due to the massive growth in business CPW Networks has outgrown its original building on the Northbank estate, which was one of the first projects undertkaken for the organisation by Williams Tarr Design & Build.
