Gordon Banks Does The Honours

Gordon Banks OBE, considered by many to be England’s greatest ever goalkeeper who won the World Cup in 1966, was guest of honour at the recent Open Day to celebrate the new NDC Engineering Facility designed and built by Williams Tarr at Trafford Park.

NDC held an Open Day for all their customers and invited us along to the party where we were entertained by Gordon who charmed everyone with amusing and revealing memories of his illustrious career, including the “Save of the Century” when he spectacularly kept out a header from Pele in the 1970 World Cup finals.

Williams Tarr undertook the turn-key purpose built facility from initial concept design and carried out site investigations, resolved party wall agreements, obtained planning consent and constructed the new light industrial unit incorporating two storey offices, factory mezzanine, R&D facility and associated external works.

The project was completed on schedule for NDC who provide an electrical repair and maintenance service to industry that specialises in the complete care of rotating electrical and mechanical assets.

NDC MD David Griffin commented:

“This new state of the art building allows us to increase production, develop our testing and R&D facilities. Thanks to Williams Tarr for a great job”.
