“Done deal” with Home Bargains

T J Morris has awarded Williams Tarr a £2.4m design and build contract for the new 25,000 square foot flag ship Home Bargains store at Prescot Business Park.

The development is located on a prominent site at the former Prysmian Cables works at Manchester Road, which has recently been fully remediated and had roads and mains infrastructure installed.

The new stand-alone store, situated just five miles from the T J Morris’ HQ,  will have a combination of traditional and piled foundations. The striking architectural features include “Rockpanel Woods” wood grain effect rainscreen cladding, expansive curtain walling and a feature entrance tower with canopy. The unit will be installed with a sprinkler installation fed from a water storage tank.

The external works scope includes securely fenced garden centre and service yard areas, car parking, low energy LED lighting and extensive landscaping.

Design consultants on the project include Glasgow based architects Smith Design Associates and SWF Consultants Ltd., structural engineers from Bromborough.

Construction works will be commencing imminently and are scheduled for an October completion.
