Nandos Stockport Restaurant Opens

Williams Tarr has completed the redevelopment of the Old King pub site in Portwood, Stockport to create a new Nandos Restaurant.

The prominent site adjacent to the thriving Peel Centre, was acquired by Wiliams Tarr Developments, and is the final piece of the retail park jigsaw on the busy Great Portwood Street arterial route into Stockport’s main shopping centre.

The new 2782 sq. ft. restaurant is due to open in the Autumn and will complement other food outlets in the area, including the KFC across the road, that was also built by Williams Tarr Construction.

The Old KIng pub had an interesting history, and in the late fifties was home to the Hollies founder member and bass player, Eric Haydock, whose interest in music came from sitting in on impromptu music evenings at the pub.
